Our genius is valves ®

Hundreds of Crane fluid control valves have been supplied as part of the mechanical services installation at the new Commonwealth Stadium under construction in Manchester.

The order, placed by mechanical and electrical services installation contractors Haden Young, was supplied by Ashworth Frazer and includes Crane D931, D933 and D934 Pro-Balance valves. These were selected from the extensive range of gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly balancing and radiator valves and strainers produced by Crane.

Main contractors for the Manchester Commonwealth Stadium are Laing, working with consultants Ove Arup and Partners. Scheduled for completion in March 2002 ready for the Commonwealth Games to take place in the August, three stands are to be built to seat 38,000 spectators. After the Games, a further stand will be constructed and the existing stands modified as part of a plan to convert the stadium into the new 44,000 seater home of Manchester City Football Club.
