Three hundred Crane Dominator combination valve units have been installed into Building One, Piccadilly Place, Manchester, part of the massive regeneration construction programme around Piccadilly Station. Building One is a 285-bed hotal and the Crane Dominators have been installed by leading Building Services provider SES, to control the fan coil units supplying the heating and air-conditioning services throughout the hotel.
Crane Dominator is a compact prefabricated unit that combines the control valves, test points, bypass valves, strainer, drain and connecting pipework ready for simple and fast on-site connection to fan coils and other terminal units. For design engineers this means that there is minimum design involvement, as all the components are supplied as one tested unit of known performance therefore minimising specification risks and saving valuable time. For contractors, installation of Crane Dominators provides significant reduction in site labour and installation costs as connection is much simpler and faster.
There is a range of standard Dominator units available and units can also be tailor-made to suit specific purposes.
The Piccadilly Place development is due for completion in late 2006 and as well as the hotel building, 118 residential units, 350,000sq ft offices, 25,000sq ft of retail and 600 car parking spaces are under construction.
